Maven Apartments is a 137 unit project in the Heart of the City area of Burnsville, MN. The pedestrian-friendly, more urban location within a larger suburban environment offered a unique opportunity for density and neighborhood connection. Configured in a U-shape to maximize downtown views to the north and create a sunny, south-facing courtyard, the building consists of four stories of apartments over a basement parking level. The city required the view of the Minneapolis skyline from the adjacent performing arts center to be maintained, and JCorp worked closely with the client to achieve the desired density while maintaining that view. The project was completed two months ahead of schedule and under budget, even with the advent of the COVID-19 crisis occurring during the course of construction.
